The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) remembers and honors the sacrifice in the civil rights struggle made by Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We pay tribute to the efforts and conviction of Ms. Rosa Parks and her sacrifice for the civil rights movement. We thank all those who worked and continue to work tirelessly to safeguard civil rights

Join us as we honor Dr. King’s good works and host our partner churches and mosques for dinner at 5:30 PM followed by a special 7:00 pm Shabbat service

Join us with Jewish-American songwriter Michael Hunter Ochs and award-winning Muslim Palestinian peace activist/songwriter Alaa Alshaham and Shireinu – our youth choir –  for our Erev Shabbat service that will weave their extraordinary story and music into our worship.

You will be inspired as these two improbable friends retrace their steps between Israel and Palestine – eventually finding themselves performing together at the United Nations.

The Leesburg MLK March committee would like to invite you to attend the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration – “Community Power to make a Change and the Courage to create a Just World”
– Scouts and Youth to carry US and International Flags
– ADAMS Representative will be doing a reading
10:00 AM|Line up for the march on the Leesburg courthouse (directions below)
10:30 AM|March to the Douglas Community Center (directions below)
11:00 AM – 11:15 AM|Arrive at  Douglas Community Center Reception
12:00 PM|Program begins in the Community Center – Speakers, Music, Performances
1:30 PM|Program concludes

Light refreshments will be served between the March and the Program in the upstairs cafeteria.

Dr. King called on faith communities, specifically the church, to be sanctuary for those in need and to demonstrate public witness to injustice.
