Sep 10 & 13 – INTERFAITH WALK & PEACE GATHERING/LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION

On Sunday, Sept. 10th and Wednesday, Sept. 13th, leaders and members of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) will conduct and take part in many interfaith activities.  In this time of reflection and 16th Anniversary, our hearts are with the victims and the families of the victims of the September 11th tragedy and our prayers are for peace and compassion. Muslims Condemn Terrorism and Extremism.

We pray for the defeat of extremism and terrorism. We pray for the safety and security of our country and its people. We pray for the safety and security of all inhabitants of our planet. We pray that interfaith harmony, cooperation, and respect prevail both here at home and all around the globe. Through getting to know one another on a personal level, people of different faiths can build bridges of understanding, respect, and harmony.

Islam strictly condemns religious extremism and the use of violence against innocent lives. There is no justification in Islam for extremism or terrorism. Targeting civilians’ lives and property through suicide bombings or any other method of attack is haram – or forbidden -and those who commit these barbaric acts are criminals, not “martyrs.”

God Almighty says in The Holy Qur’an:

Whoever kills a person, unless [as punishment through due process] for murder or mischief in the land, it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.”(5:32)
