ADAMS Condemns Terrorist Hate Attack on Two New Zealand Mosques

The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) is outraged, saddened and sickened by the terrorist hate crime in two New Zealand Mosques that killed 49 people and injured 20. We condemn this despicable and cowardly act. New Zealand Law Enforcement Agencies have captured 4 suspected terrorists and we call for absolute justice in prosecuting these heinous terrorist criminals.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, the New Zealand Muslim community, and all New Zealanders during this awful time.  For this to happen in a house of Worship is especially appalling.  We have seen too many instances of vicious attacks in Mosques, Synagogues, Temples, Churches and other Houses of Worship, and it is time to say, “No More!”.

Please support the New Zealand Muslim community victims and families – https://www.launchgood.com/project/support_for_the_families__victims_of_the_new_zealand_mosque_shootings#!/

We appreciate all the support and solidarity of Many Faith Leaders, Government Officials, and Law Enforcement. ADAMS will be holding a Vigil this evening Fri Mar 15th 7pm-9pm at ADAMS Sterling – 46903 Sugarland Rd, Sterling, VA 20164. Faith Leaders and Government Officials will be giving remarks.

In 2015-2017 over 160 Mosques in the USA were attacked and dozens of Muslims were killed in alleged or confirmed hate crimes. In Jan 30, 2017, a White Nationalist terrorist murdered 6 Muslims at Quebec City Islamic Cultural Centre, and in January of this year 3 men and 1 teenager were alleged to be planning to bomb a Muslim community in upstate New York.  Synagogues, temples and other Houses of Worship have faced similar depraved acts.  There are too many such horrific attacks to even list here. Once again, we urge a swift Law Enforcement response to this hate crime terrorism, as well as proactive measures to better protect all countries’ citizens.  We also urge an immediate end to the intemperate language, vicious verbal attacks and false accusations by those who seek to divide our nation, and which encourages those who see violence as an acceptable way to express their views.

All our leaders and those in positions of public responsibility should stand in solidarity with their Muslim and all other minority communities, and thereby send a clear message that hateful intimidation or crimes against any community, here and around the world, must never be tolerated.  We urge all Americans to share the empathy, kindness, and good will that has marked our nation throughout our history, and our traditions of tolerance and acceptance of all groups in our nation.
